Woolworth’s – International Civil Right Museum – 10/23/2011
I took a little bike ride through downtown Greensboro on Saturday morning and decided to snap a few shots. This is the Woolworth’s where the Sit-Ins took place on February 1, 1960. The four NC A&T students were refused service, but the action resulted in more sit-ins throughout the south. I’ve been to that Woolworth’s on many occasions and eaten at that lunch counter several times before the store closed. It now houses the International Civil Rights Museum.
